A central
theme in my art has been a series of projects concerned with issues of
the Holocaust. These images have taken a number of different forms from
animation to installation, digitally manipulated photography to video
projections. These works deal with a number of issues but are linked by
my interest in how Holocaust images are used, by whom and to what ends.
Central to these works is my belief that all images exist in social and
political contexts, and as such all images are ideological.
In these works I examine how Holocaust images are used in a number of
contexts, from Hollywood films to advertising, museum exhibitions to tourism.
By manipulating and using these images I wish to raise awareness as to
how they are often manipulated and are always used with an ideological
bias. In doing so, I hope to address our relationship to the Holocaust
and its representations.
